Dr. Jones is a native of Coldwater, Michigan. She completed her bachelors of science at the University of Findlay in Ohio. Dr. Jones then traveled to the island of St. Kitts in the Caribbean to attend Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. She completed her clinical rotations at Oklahoma State University (GO POKES!). Dr. Jones was then accepted into an all equine internship in the heart of western performance horse country of north central Texas at Performance Equine Associates. Her mentorship in equine lameness and surgery of the western performance horse gave her access to the highest quality of quarter horses in the industry. After completing her internship, her focus turned to emergency and critical care medicine. Dr. Jones received advanced training in one of the world’s busiest equine critical care facilities, Hagyard Equine Medical Institute, in Lexington, Kentucky. Dr. Jones has advanced experience with broodmare, neonatal and colic care. Prior to moving to Oregon, Dr. Jones had been an associate at Saginaw Valley Equine Clinic in Michigan where she provided advanced medicine and wellness services.
Dr. Jones is pleased to be able to provide mobile veterinary services to Central Oregon. Beyond her passion for equine medicine, she has a special interest in hospice + palliative care, pain management and in-home end of life services. Dr. Jones also enjoys blending alternative therapies into her patients’ care regimen utilizing acupuncture, herbal therapy and class IV laser therapy.
In what little spare time is left, Dr. Jones enjoys spending time in the outdoors with her dog, Casey. She can be found helping vet the Pacific Northwest endurance rides, volunteering for the Central Oregon Girls on The Run program and the International Equitarian Initiative.
